In 1911, a group of 37 people, half of whom were scientists, went on an expedition to Macquarie, where until then there was no man. The expedition lasted until 1914, during the three years several camps were built, meteorological observations were made, and the other participants went on expeditions to investigate the umstances. The photographer of that expedition was Frank Hurley, a young man who could not imagine his life without a camera. See below some of the photos taken by the young photographer on that expedition.
